The blessed month of Ramadan is a time where increased worship – whether through additional prayers, reading Qu’ran or giving in charity – is highly encouraged and a source of great reward.
Amina Ibrahim is struggling to feed her children because of the worsening drought, which wiped out her family’s crops and animals. She was forced to abandon her home and her land in search of food and water, and she now lives in a tent in a crowded displacement camp.
“We are facing severe drought conditions,” she says. “For a long time, no crops have been able to grow from the land. We have no livestock and no food to sustain us. We respectfully appeal to everyone who can to support us in this drought crisis.”
Many Somalis living in overcrowded displacement camps are struggling through each day and do not know whether they will have any food for Iftar.
Zamzam Foundation works tirelessly throughout Ramadan to ensure that your donation supports Somalis with essential food so that they can have a nutritious meal for Iftar.

Zamzam’s teams worked tirelessly — most while fasting themselves — ensuring Ramadan brought relief, dignity and hope.

Fidyah is a payment made by those who are unable to fast during Ramadan due to long-term illness or old age and are not expected to make up the fasts later.
By giving Fidyah, you ensure someone else can eat while you are unable to fast.
Kaffarah is required if a fast is intentionally broken without a valid reason during Ramadan.
To make amends, one must:
Through Zamzam, your Kaffarah supports families facing extreme food insecurity.
Zakat Al-Fitr is a charitable obligation for every Muslim at the end of Ramadan. It ensures that those who are struggling have the means to celebrate Eid and enjoy a meal with their families.
Your Zakat Al-Fitr donation of £5 before the Eid prayer means we can provide a meal or equivalent cash assistance to a vulnerable Somali family, allowing them to mark Eid with dignity despite the challenges of drought and displacement.
Eid should be a time of celebration for all the family. But for many Somali orphans and other disadvantaged children, gifts such as new clothes and sweet treats are something they can only dream about.
Your donation of £20 can put a smile on the face of a disadvantaged child by providing new clothes to celebrate this special season.
