Please tune in to support our Ramadan live appeal on Somali-language channel Universal TV on Friday, 13 March at 6-11pm GMT (9pm-2am EAT).
You can make a donation or pay your Zakat by phoning in to one of the numbers on screen, or you can give right here via this dedicated web page. Your support could ensure a safe birth for a pregnant woman, or save the life of a severely malnourished child, or provide vital food for hungry families.
Over 6.5 million Somalis are suffering from crisis levels of hunger because of an extreme and worsening drought that has wiped out crops and livestock and driven families from their homes in search of food and water.
No one is more vulnerable in this devastating drought than pregnant and breastfeeding women, babies, and young children. That is why ‘Fight Hunger, Support Somali Mothers’ is the focus of our live appeal.
Donate now to save Somali mothers and babies

Why support Zamzam Foundation?
Zamzam Foundation is one of the foremost Somali-led organisations on the ground supporting expectant Somali mothers, treating malnourished children, and feeding hungry families driven from their homes by drought.
We are active from Somaliland and Puntland in the north to Jubaland in the south, and in all areas in between – including the two biggest cities, Mogadishu and Baidoa.

The difference your donation makes
Our health centres provide maternity care to over 30,000 women every year. They also screen and treat children for malnutrition and provide a safe space where over 3,600 babies are born with the assistance of trained midwives.
Throughout Ramadan, Zamzam teams have been distributing thousands of food packs to hungry families in six locations: Mogadishu, Baidoa, Hargeisa, Kismayo, Beledweyne, and Guriel. Each food pack provides a family with enough foods to feed themselves for a whole month.
Your donation could save the life of a hungry and exhausted pregnant woman, or an emaciated child severely weakened by malnutrition.

Your support is urgently needed
Nearly 800 women around the world die every day because of complications related to pregnancy or childbirth. Somalia is among the countries with the highest maternal mortality rates.
Over 1.8 million Somali children under five are suffering from severe malnutrition – half the children in this age group. These children are in real danger of dying from hunger or disease, and at risk of their growth being stunted – with potentially devastating long-term consequences for their health and life expectancy.
With your support we can ensure that pregnant women give birth safely, that the most severely malnourished children get life-saving nutritional therapy, and that hungry families have nutritious food to sustain them.
What your donation means
£33 provides a pregnant woman with good maternity care and a safe birth assisted by a trained midwife.
£45 provides life-saving treatment for three children suffering from severe malnutrition.
£70 provides enough food for a family of six to feed themselves for a month.
Your support means we can offer a lifeline to the mothers and families who need it most.
Your donation also means you receive the reward of giving during this most blessed of months.

Making your donation go further at no extra cost
Zamzam Foundation UK is a member of Every Pregnancy, a coalition of over 50 organisations campaigning globally to save the lives of mothers and babies and delivering life-saving maternal and newborn healthcare in over 20 countries – including Somalia.
In Ramadan 2026 your generous support for our maternal health work will be multiplied. Your donation in support of healthcare for Somali mothers and babies will increase in value to us, at no extra cost to you, by triggering additional funding from a Boost Fund of $9.1 million (£6.7 million) made available exclusively to Every Pregnancy members by generous philanthropic foundations.

Zakat Al-Fitr and Eid gifts for children
Zakat Al-Fitr is a charitable obligation for every Muslim at the end of Ramadan. It ensures that those who are struggling have the means to celebrate Eid and enjoy a meal with their families.
Your Zakat Al-Fitr donation of £5 before the Eid prayer means we can provide a meal or equivalent cash assistance to a vulnerable Somali family, allowing them to mark Eid with dignity despite the challenges of drought and displacement.
Eid should be a time of celebration for all the family. But for many Somali orphans and other disadvantaged children, gifts such as new clothes and sweet treats are something they can only dream about.
Your donation of £20 can put a smile on the face of a disadvantaged child by providing new clothes to celebrate this special season.
The things we are fundraising for in our Universal TV live appeal are all Zakat-eligible – Ramadan food packs, treatment for children with severe acute malnutrition, and support for farmers with seeds, tools and livestock.
Zakat is a pillar of Islam and a lifeline for families living in poverty. By entrusting your Zakat to Zamzam Foundation UK, you ensure it reaches eligible recipients and supports sustainable, life-changing programmes across Somalia.
Through your generous Zakat donations, we are able to support:
Poor and needy individuals and families.
Somali refugees and displaced communities.
The provision of emergency aid including food, shelter, and clean water.
Clinics, schools, wells, and boreholes.
Livelihood support to lift farmers and families out of poverty.
Please give your Zakat with confidence today. Deliver hope, and multiply your reward. You can use our simple Zakat Calculator below to work out what you owe.
