Where Most Needed – our most flexible fund and what it means

Our donors often prefer to support specific aspects of Zamzam Foundation’s work that they are passionate about – such as water projects to protect against deadly diseases or livelihoods programmes to generate income for farmers and small family businesses.

Sponsoring an orphan is another popular choice – enabling us to provide transformative support to the family of an orphaned child that ensures the child can go to school and the basic needs of the family are met.

Our Where Most Needed Fund offers another different and distinctive option – donating to a general funding pot that we are free to allocate as we see fit to meet the most urgent needs of the communities we serve.

When there is a major emergency – such as a surge in seasonal flooding or an escalation in conflict that displaces tens of thousands of people from their homes – we may use donations from this fund to support our emergency response.

When we are not currently responding to a major emergency, or when we see a strategic case to prioritise one of our other programmes because of a specific need, we can use your donation flexibly to support those who require our assistance most. We work hard to earn the trust of the communities we serve by providing support where it is most needed, and it is equally valuable to be trusted by donors to allocate our support where most needed.

Our Where Most Needed Fund helps ensure we have the flexible funding we need to support those in the greatest need, whoever they are and wherever they are living, in the most practical and effective way.
